... deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy in the philippines ... (life coach, counselor, psychotherapist, psychologist, psychiatrist)

.
of all the body therapies that i do, deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy are the ones mostly sought after by my clients who are athletes, dancers, theatre artists, and other professionals who use their body musculature intensively.
.deep tissue massage is not the same as "hard massage" which, for Filipinos, essentially means a strong and painful massage. deep tissue massage is a clinical body therapy which consists of slow massage strokes and attempts to reach the deeper muscular tissues. there can be mild to moderate discomfort or pain especially when the tight muscles are being worked on.
.
trigger point therapy is another clinical therapy which involves the application of pressure on tender muscle tissue called trigger points. when trigger points are pressed, they refer pain and tenderness to a different area of the body.
.
the goals of both deep tissue massage and trigger point are to loosen muscles, alleviate pain, and increase mobility. after the massage, there can be a day or two of soreness, just like how you would feel after a rigorous work-out at the gym or after playing sports.
.
done regularly, deep tissue and trigger point therapy are two body therapies that bring about deep muscle conditioning and healing.

... sports psychology in the philippines ... (life coach, counselor, psychotherapist, psychologist, psychiatrist)

.
as an avid tennis player since my high school days, i am very aware of how tennis is a mental game as much as it is a physical one. this has inspired me to dabble into sports psychology and become a certified sports psychology coach, certified sports hypnotist, and a certified mind-body fitness coach.
.what i do is teach recreational, amateur, and professional athletes the necessary psychological skills needed to become mentally tough in their training and in competition. i particularly enjoy being a life coach to athletes, helping them overcome their life problems so that they can focus more sharply on their sport. moreover, i've also been hired by athletes for the holistic wellness therapies which ensure their physical and psychological health.
.
recently, i've been hobnobbing with fellow enthusiasts of sports psychology like hans pe and aikee enciso. hans is an elite triathlete and director of total athlete network- a christian community of sports-loving people. both hans and aikee are connected with anthony pangilinan's businessworks which also has an athlete development program.
.
though sports psychology in the philippines is still in its infancy, i am glad that more and more sports persons are realizing how it can help them unleash their fullest athletic potential.
