just this weekend, OHM TALKS launched a 2-day conference at the Elements, Centris Mall in Quezon City.  OHM is an acronym for OCCUPY your HIGHER MIND and the 2-day conference showcased speakers who gave inspirational, thought-provoking, and life-changing talks intended to raise the higher mind.

sexual and reproductive health is an aspect of wellness that deserves more attention since many people experience sexual dysfunction but suffer in silence because they are embarrassed to get help or simply because they don't know who to get help from.  at OHM TALKS, i disseminated some information on common sexual dysfunctions which i hope was helpful for the attendees.

more and more it happens, this cybersextortion phenomenon.  and that's why tv5's bitag, hosted by mr. ben tulfo, interviewed me about it. fact is, i've had a number of clients who have had this harrowing experience.  

cybersextortion, as the term implies, involves the internet, blackmail, and extortion. bitag presented me the case of a lady whose email account was hacked.  the hacker had discovered the lady's naked pictures in the emails which the hacker threatened to spread on the internet unless he was paid a whopping P100K.

lesson here is never to keep naked pictures of yourself stored in your email account. and better yet, never have any naked pictures of yourself taken.

Sandra Tobillo of abs-cbn's morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda" interviewed me on a topic that wasn't "maganda" at all.  Our discussion centered on teenage pregnancies.

The exponential rise in teenage pregnancies in the Philippines is quite alarming news.  At the current time, the Philippines ranks first among ASEAN countries in teenage pregnancies.  Out of a thousand filipino girls aged 15-19, around 50 of them will get pregnant.  This emphasizes the need for a sex education program which teaches young people to be more responsible for their actions.  

For pregnant teenagers, counseling is an important source of help. When a teenager gets pregnant, confusion, fear, guilt, anger, uncertainty, and a gamut of other emotions run high.  The pregnant teenager is also beset by financial worries, school concerns, the fear that people are going to belittle her, and the fear of abandonment by her boyfriend, friends, and family members.  

especially in this difficult time of her life, more than ever, the pregnant teen needs all the emotional and social support that she can get.
